This precision demands results that are observable, measurable and repeatable. To support this mandate, CrossFit is committed to results-based education and training that includes entry-level courses such as the Level 1 Certificate Course and the Level 2 Certificate Course, as well as advanced credentials achieved via examination such as the Certified CrossFit Level 3 Trainer and the Certified CrossFit Level 4 Coach.

Certified CrossFit Level 3 Trainer (CF-L3)

The Certified CrossFit Level 3 Trainer (CF-L3) credential is a CrossFit-specific designation for those who have completed the Level 1 and Level 2 certificate courses and then passed the CCFT examination. This credential is for the experienced individual who wants to demonstrate a higher level of CrossFit coaching knowledge and ability.

prerequisites

  • Current CrossFit Level 2 Trainer Certificate
  • Current CPR/AED training
  • 750 hours of coaching CrossFit for groups or individuals. Hours must be accrued while Level 1 or 2 is current and must have been accumulated within the last 5 years

maintain

  • Abide by the CrossFit Standards of Professional Practice
  • Maintain a current CPR certificate
  • Obtain 50 continuing education units
  • Complete a minimum of 300 coaching hours

Certified CrossFit Level 4 Coach (CF-L4)

The Certified CrossFit Level 4 Coach (CF- L4) credential is a CrossFit-specific designation for those who have completed the Level 1 and Level 2 certificate courses, earned the CF-L3 designation, and successfully passed the CCFC performance evaluation. This credential is for the experienced individual who wants to demonstrate the highest level of practical coaching skills and knowledge.
